Limuru MP Peter Mwathi elected unopposed to chair Security Committee – KBC

Mwathi has served in different House committees and was previously the Chairman of the Labor and Social Services Committee before being moved to the Security Committee.

Limuru Member of Parliament Peter Mwathi has been elected Chairperson of the Departmental Committee on Administration and National Security of the National Assembly.

Hon. Mwathi who previously was the Chairperson Departmental Committee on Labour and Social welfare replaces the late Hon. Paul Koinange who succumbed to COVID-19 related complications in March this year.

Mwathi who was elected unopposed comes in after the intervention of the Jubilee party as well as Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga.

Wajir Woman Representative who was eyeing the post withdrew after Raila’s intervention.

On twitter, Hon Fatuma Gedi, said: “Congratulations to Limuru MP Hon. Peter Mwathi for election as the Chair for National Administration and Security Committee of the National Assembly unopposed. As a colleague that I have had close working relationships in different capacities in the recent years.”

The Limuru legislator while thanking his party and the membership of the committee for having trust in him, pledged to do all he can to take it forward.
