Machakos County Governor Alfred Mutua faces arrest – Kenyan Business Feed

Officer Commanding Station at the Machakos Police Station has been ordered to arrest Governor Alfred Mutua.
The court gave the arrest warrant on Wednesday for the arrest of the governor over non-payment of Sh5.5 million decree.
Governor Mutua had been charged and ordered to pay Sh5,590,443.15 to a businessman David Gitau Thairu for dumping waste on his farm.
The order was issued in a suit filed against the county government for dumping waste in the businessman’s land.
Thairu went to court claiming that Governor Mutua had failed to honor the court orders.
Apart from paying the Sh5 million, the court had also directed the Governor and his county government to remove waste dumped into the parcel of land within Ikuuni hotel in Machakos town.
