The Standard Gauge Railway netted 15.2 billion shillings in revenue from passenger and freight services last year backed by increased demand after the lifting of Covid-19 related travel restrictions. The 2022 economic survey indicates that the increase in revenue was powered by higher demand for cargo demand services that saw the new line haul 5,407 tonnes of cargo from a previous 4,411 tones in 2020.
