Man charged with stealing girlfriend’s Prado

A man was on Tuesday charged with stealing a vehicle from a woman he claimed is his girlfriend.
Paul Kihika Wangari, appearing before Milimani Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi, denied stealing a Toyota Prado with registration KCF 656X between February 5 and April 3, 2021, in Nairobi.
The vehicle valued at Sh5,780,000 belongs to Hellen Tafrine Akinyi Omiti.

Mr Wangari explained to the court that he took the vehicle only after they differed with the complainant.

“Your honour, I didn’t steal the vehicle. I only took it after I differed with Hellen,” Wangari told the court.
The complainant, Omiti, was not in court.
Mr Wangari was granted a bond of Sh500,000 or a cash bail of Sh300,000.
The case will be mentioned on August 24.
