– Bruno Fernandes scored an 81st minute penalty to save his side from a famous defeat
– The draw meant Manchester United are 12 games unbeaten in all competitions in a run that spans from March
– Tottenham took the lead courtesy of Steven Charles Bergwijn in the 27th minute
– The draw takes Manchester United to 46 points, two points behind Chelsea who have a game in hand
Manchester United’s January signing Bruno Fernandes came to his side’s rescue once again as his late penalty ensured points were shared against Tottenham as Jose Mourinho faced off with his former side.
In a largely lethargic game, both sides had to settle for a 1-1 draw on Friday evening.
Mourinho particularly was quite relieved to be able to select an attack which had the likes of Harry Kane, Son Heung Min and January signing Steven Charles Bergwijn.
And it was Bergwijn who broke the deadlock in the 27th minute after powering a shot past David De Gea, who was largely at fault for not stopping the shot.

Bergwijn seamlessly dribbled past a couple of United players including captain Harry Maguire before finally hitting a sweet ball to the back of the net.
Prior to the Dutchman’s goal, the game was largely devoid of too much action as both sides were more intent in keeping their shape once they lost the ball.
Solskjaer had kept his same time which went 11 games unbeaten prior to the lockdown but with his team trailing, he had to make some calculated risks.
This included introducing Frenchman Paul Pogba, who only made a handful of appearances for his side this season.
Pogba provided the much needed zest to an otherwise lackluster Manchester United attack, and eventually drew a foul in the penalty area after tricking Eric Dier into a tackle.
Things would have gone much worse for Mourinho’s men late on as United were on the verge of being handed another penalty late on but the VAR deemed Bruno Fernandes to have dived after the Portuguese went down in the area.
The draw takes Manchester United to 46 points, two points behind Chelsea who play Aston Villa on Saturday, June 20.
