Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader Musalia Mudavadi sparked wavering thoughts among Kenyans who attended and streamed live his ‘earthquake event‘ at Bomas of Kenya as he delivered his speech.

Mudavadi weighed in on several issues that have crippled the Kenyan economy and trailed guns at several political leaders currently in Government.

He said that the leaders should be held accountable for political deceit and corruption, and the sweep should start at the helm of leadership held by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

In his event, themed Tusidanganyane, Mudavadi poked holes at the state project, SGR, claiming that a lot of money was borrowed to finance the project, but a section of politicians misused it by funding corruption instead. Mudavadi promised economic recovery when he takes over as the fifth President of Kenya after the 2022 polls.

“We must tell Kenyans that country is at risk of being auctioned by international lenders. For instance, when we ask to be told about SGR, a state infrastructure project, we are told in affidavits filed by the government in court that it is a state secret, a national security risk. Our debt has become a matter of our national security. Kenya risks losing sovereignty from reckless borrowing to fund corruption. We must tell the truth. These people are eating the country. They are the real thieves in the country.” He said.

But who exactly is behind Mudavadi’s unsparing speech? It is the ANC leader’s Communications Director, Spokesperson, and Personal Secretary Kibisu Kabatesi.

Close sources indicate that the brilliant man has been friends with Mudavadi ever since his campus days at the University of Nairobi (UoN), where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Literature (First Class Honours) in 1985. The bibliophile also has a Master of Arts in International Studies (UoN) and Ph.D. from the University of Maryland by his name.

He worked as a lecturer at UoN between 1990 and 2018. Further, he has over 35 years of experience in media and has worked with The Standard Group, The Star, World Health Organisation (WHO), National Christian Churches of Kenya (NCCK), Longman Kenya Limited, and Mwanachi Newspaper.
