Miguna Miguna was among many Kenyans living in Canada, who visited the Kenya High Commission office and Consulates to register as a voter, change particulars or transfer their voting station from Kenya to Canada.
This as IEBC intensifies its campaign on registration in the Enhanced Continuous Voter Registration exercise in the diaspora which is ongoing in Ottawa, Toronto and Vancouver for 15 days.
IEBC has continued to urge Kenyans living abroad to register as voters ahead of the 2022 general elections with the clarion call, “IEBC Inakutambua. Jiandikishe Leo!
A tweet on the Commission’s social media page read, “Are you a Kenyan Residing in the USA? Present yourself with a valid Kenyan Passport or a National Identity Card to the Kenya Consulates in Washington DC, New York and Los Angeles ‘Usibaki Nyuma’.”
The commission has expressed satisfaction with the turn with the Consular General of Kenya in Dubai, Ambassador Peter Mwendwa, having transferred his polling station in the ongoing exercise.
The Kenyan Ambassador to Belgium Prof Jacob Kaimenyi on the other hand flew to Berlin from Brussels to register as a voter.
The Commission through its representatives continues to engage and sensitize Kenyans living abroad through stakeholder forums on diaspora voter registration.
