Narok Senator Ledama Ole Kina has dismissed claims by a woman who has sued him over child support.

In his response to the suit through lawyer Kethi Kilonzo, the lawmaker says he doesn’t know the woman identified as Esther Wanjiru Gatume.

Ole Kina is now demanding a DNA test to ascertain whether the child is his as alleged.

“That I am advised by the Advocate of Record, that in the circumstances DNA test of the child ought to be ordered for by this Honourable Court before it issues any further directions,” an extract from the affidavit reads.

In November last year, Gatume asked the court to compel the legislator to pay Ksh200,000 monthly upkeep for their one-year-old son.

She also asked the court to order Ole Kina to pay school fees for the child, arguing that he earns a lot of o money from his businesses and as a lawmaker.

“That this Honourable Court is pleased to order the respondent to pay interim maintenance of Ksh200,000 per month, being child support for the minor herein pending hearing and determination of this application,” she pleaded through lawyer Ojijo Senaji.

The mother claims that she met the senator in 2019 and in November of the same year they began having intimate moments.

She adds that Ole Kina refused to pick up her calls and reply to messages after he learnt that she was pregnant.

“When I conceived and realised I was pregnant, I immediately informed the respondent that he was going to be a father but to my dismay and utter shock, the respondent cut off communication with me,” she said.

However, the senator says the story is pure fabrication.
