Kenyan gospel artiste James Muhia, who is popularly known as Moji Short Babaa is away in the United States to take part in a live Sauti Fest performance in Dallas, Texas, at the weekend.
The former Kelele Takatifu band member chose to tickle his fans’ ribs with a comic video of himself supposedly hawking water outside the White House in Washington, DC.

In the short clip, Moji is heard using the popular Kiswahili ‘hawking voice’ to market cold water alongside another man, who is marketing the same product in English.

Short Babaa, who is known for being quite a free and cheeky soul even in live interviews, imitates the voice commonly used by pastors after a woman asks to buy water. Those around him couldn’t help bursting into laughter.

Unataka maji dada? Ya kiroho ama hii ( sister do you want water? The spiritual one or this)?”

The post sparked amusement and had some of his friends and fans ask him not to say that he is a Kenyan in case he is asked about his nationality. Others jokingly told him to board the plane back home.

Below are some of the comments:

Ben again: “Wakiuliza usiwaambie tunajuana priss (if they ask you don’t tell them you know me, please).”

saintpkenya: Unachoma (you are embarrassing us).”

Ishmaelkimanzi: We rudi tu Kenya (return to Kenya).”
