Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has broken his silence after weeks of insinuations about his ill health.

The lawmaker, who has been hospitalised in Kenya and Dubai for more than three months, is particularly drawn to allegations that his affliction has something to do with the murder of ICT guru Chris Msando, who was heading the technology department at the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC). He was killed barely three months before the 2017 General Election.

In a tweet, Kuria said he did not wish to respond to those linking his illness with Msando’s death, but threatened to take legal actions against them.

“I have taken judicial notice of all those wishing me death and associating me with Chris Msando. I will respond when those comments come from more than one community in Kenya,” he said.

Former IEBC commissioner Roselyn Akombe is among Kenyans who have commented about the lawmaker’s health.

She retweeted a photo of Kuria in a hospital bed and captioned: “Vengeance is the Lord’s. Continue resting in peace Chris Msando.”

After the IEBC official’s assassination, the Gatundu South lawmaker was filmed standing next to his car, which had been abandoned in Roysambu, Nairobi.

Last year, Kuria was under pressure from Kenyans to reveal Msando’s killer.

“I recorded a statement with police on what I know. I must now say that enough is enough. I really want to bring this matter to an end. Any further linkage of my name with the disappearance of Msando will be dealt with by the courts,” he said.

Meanwhile, the parliamentarian is set to undergo his eighth operation at a Dubai hospital following the burns he sustained after using a sub-standard electric mat.

He will become among the patients in the world to go through stem surgery.

According to www.mayoclinic.org, in the stem cell transplant, stem cells replace cells damaged by chemotherapy or disease.
