– DP Ruto also thanked the Garissa lawmaker for his service in his tenure as majority leader and said he had a bright future
Ousted National Assembly majority leader and Garissa Township MP Aden Duale has shaken hands with his fate hours after his unceremonious ejection from the House leadership.
Duale said he was relinquishing his position his head held high as he had executed his duties, in the past seven years, with zeal, diligence and dedication.
In a lengthy statement on Twitter, the ejected William Ruto ally said he served the interests of the majority party and oversaw the passage of over 200 Bills and 500 motions.
“This was not an easy task but one which required that I work with everyone, be it foe or friend and in the end and with the help of Allah, I delivered,” Duale wrote.
He further thanked President Uhuru Kenyatta, his deputy Ruto and Jubilee members for giving him the opportunity to serve Kenyans.
“But like I have said before, public positions are not to be personalised. When you are given a position you do your best and when time comes for you to leave, you leave with a smile,” he continued.
The legislator also congratulated his successor Kipipiri MP Amos Kimunya and concluded by thanking Kenyans and the people of Garissa whom he said he would continue working for.

“As the first leader of majority party in the Constitution of Kenya 2010, I can now pen down this for history and record: I came, I saw and I conquered,” he concluded.
The DP also congratulated Duale for his work and said when parliamentary history will be written, “you will have a chapter”.
“My brother Aden Duale, you are a great leader. For the last eight, you discharged your responsibilities as our party’s first majority leader with style, precision, passion and loyalty.
“My friend, when parliamentary history is written you will have a chapter. Mbele iko sawa na Mungu (The future is bright with God),” Ruto said.
Duale was ejected in a 30-minute PG meeting at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) which was presided over by the first in command.
Ruto was also in attendance despite a few of his allies stating they would not attend the meeting.
Duale’s ouster is said to be linked to his dalliance with the DP who has been at loggerheads with Uhuru.
