ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi has stated he will not be attending ODM leader Raila Odinga’s Azimio la Umoja national Convention at Kasarani Stadium in Nairobi on Friday.

Acknowledging that he has received an official invitation, Mudavadi said his schedule is tight, hence he has no time for the event.

“As noted herein, the invitation was addressed in my personal capacity as ANC Party Leader and not OKA Principal. Regrettably, I will not be able to attend because of personal engagements,” he said.

Affirming that he was ready to face the former Prime Minister in the 2022 presidential ballot, the ex-Finance Minister sarcastically wished him all the best as he makes a fifth attempt at the top seat.

“Raila Odinga is a worthy competitor, I wish him well because tomorrow will clearly be his day in the sun,” he said.

In recent weeks, Mudavadi has vowed not to work with the opposition boss ahead of the upcoming General Election.

He claims that Raila conned him together with other partners in the defunct National Super Alliance (Nasa).

According to him, the agreement stated that the ex-Premier would support another presidential contender in the 2022 poll.

At the same, Mudavadi, who is one of the four co-principals in the One Kenya Alliance (OKA), is said to be secretly engaging Deputy President William Ruto for a possible deal that would see him deputize the second in command.

Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala has also hinted that the ANC leader could will work with the DP.

However, ANC deputy leader Ayub Savula has accused Malala of receiving millions of shillings from Dr. Ruto to scuttle OKA.
