Murang’a Woman Rep Sabina Chege Will Not Vie For Any Position in August Polls

Murang’a Woman Representative Sabina Chege has announced that she will not be running for an elective seat in the 9th August polls.

Taking to her social media on Saturday, 23rd April, Chege revealed that she will be concentrating on her role in the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya coalition party.

“Finally the Holy Spirit has spoken, I will not be vying in any elective position in Murang’a County. I will concentrate on National politics in Azimio la Umoja Council. Asanteni wa Murang’a nawapenda sana,” Chege tweeted.

The lawmaker thanked the people of Murang’a County for giving her the opportunity to serve them.

“As I move to the next level of leadership, I will build the momentum from here, I will serve with all the zeal and determination. Asanteni Sana Watu Wa Murang’a County, indeed I love you as your Mother. It’s a defining moment,” she said.

She further extended her gratitude to President Uhuru Kenyatta who had offered him a role in his government.

“To my Boss and my Party Leader HE President Uhuru Kenyatta, I sincerely thank you for believing in me and giving me a platform in the National Assembly to serve in the capacity of Education Chair in the first term and Chair Health Committee in the second term,” she added.

She also thanked the Head of State for offering her a role as a council member in the Azimio-One Kenya Coalition Party.

Chege is among 11 powerful leaders in Azimio-One Kenya Alliance chaired by President Kenyatta.
