Gambia kept the dream alive after they beat Guinea 1-0 at the Kouekong Stadium on Monday evening to progress to the Africa Cup of Nations quarter-finals.

Musa Barrow was the hero again for Tom Saintfietโ€™s side as his 71st-minute strike proved to be the difference in Bafoussam.

Both teams finished the round-of-16 encounter with 10 men following the second-half dismissals of Yusupha Njie and Ibrahima Conte.

The loss of captain and Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita through suspension would prove a major loss for Guinea who endured a frustrating end to the game.

Gambia were forced to change both full-backs shortly before kick-off when Ibou Touray and Saidy Janko were ruled out by food poisoning.

The small west Africa country are the lowliest ranked of all the 24 participants at the tournament in Cameroon at 150 in the world and are making their debut at the finals.

They will play the winner of Mondayโ€™s later match between hosts Cameroon and the Comoros Islands.
