This isn’t the first time the musician has sided with an alleged racist establishment.
Activist, musician and podcaster Karen Lucas, popularly known as Kaz has defended The Alchemist Bar after its closure by the Nairobi County Government to facilitate investigations into alleged racism.
Taking to her Instagram account, Kaz lamented about the loss of jobs at the hands of keyboard bullies.
“The number of jobs lost, hungry homes and loss alchemist has had to suffer at the hands of keyboard bullies is just dispeakable! (SIC) You have no idea how powerful your phones are till you’re responsible for all the mouths that go hungry from your actions,” Kaz said on her Instagram stories.
She also encouraged people to use their power of activism wisely.
“Yes we can all be activists but use your power wisely. Look what you’ve done Shame Shame on you!!”
This isn’t the first time that Kaz has come to the defence of an establishment accused of alleged racism. In 2019, the podcaster defended J’s Fresh Bar and Restaurant when they were also accused of alleged racism.
The Alchemist’s operating license was suspended by the Nairobi County Government on Monday following the allegations.
“I have directed county executive committee member for environment to institute a multiagency task force and a comprehensive report of the same to be made in the next five days,” the Governor of Nairobi Anne Kananu said.
