Radio and TV comedian Benson Gathungu aka Muthee Kiengei has mixed feelings following the death of his beloved father, Mzee Toria, who passed away on Tuesday evening.

“It’s well. A dull Christmas,” Kiengei wrote on Facebook and Instagram.

On one hand, the rib-ticker is heartbroken while on the other he has no regrets and feels blessed.

The radio presenter has shared a touching video of his dad making a genuine prayer for his son, who had become a blessing to him.

“God bless you my son, Gathungu,” he prayed.

Kiengei noted that he wanted to spend more years with the old man, but has accepted the will of God.

“Thank you, dad, for blessing me. Go well, my first man. As a son, I did all I could have done,” he said.

If what the funnyman has been posting regularly on social networks is anything to go by, we can only infer that he loved and adored his dad.

“Every time I miss my dad, I pay him a visit in our Nakuru home. I always make sure he is happy because he means a lot to me,” he said in a recent function.

And because they say the apple does not fall far from the tree, Mzee Toria was equally funny.

His son would occasionally involve him in his comedy skits and it was never a dull moment.

Mid last year, the comedian gifted his father the old model Toyota Prado car and employed a driver since he could not drive himself due to old age.

“Enjoy yourself, dad, I wish mum was here,” Kiengei said. His mother died of cancer years ago.

Overjoyed by the gift, Mzee Toria shed tears of joy and said: “God bless you Gathungu. You will be successful.”
