‘My preference is a guy 8-10 years older’- Kamene and Kibe on why girls prefer older men

The conversation onThe Morning Kiss with Kamene and Kibe was all about age and why women prefer to be with a man who is way older than her.

We have heard many women’s stories of the kind of man they want and many say a man who is five to ten years older than her is ideal.

This story came about after Kamene was ambushed by a guy in a car wash who asked her why women like older men.

“I was reading a newspaper as my car was being washed and the title on the front page was ‘Why rich kids fall for old men and this was in regard to the late Tecra’s story. The guy sitted next to me saw the title and asked me why we Kenyan women are like that. He even went ahead to point out that even I had an older man. Then I realized it is because he is already a taught man, I do not need to teach him the ways to be with me because he has been there and done that.” Kamene said

Kibe broke it down using the analogy of a job.

You see even when you apply for a job, they ask you how many years of experience have you had in this line of work. So the more the experience, the valuable you are the bigger the check. An analogy as to why women look at a guy who has done a lot of RnD and have been there and done that. We in this generation scoop the young girls from these young men on campus.

Kamene then went ahead to state what she prefers and why she leans on the older men’s side.

Personally, my preference is someone who is 8-10 years over me because I can’t relate with people who are my age even friends.  I remember blocking away a guy who was a year older than me only because of the age difference and he was such a nice guy, probably the best I’ll ever have. At your age Kibe, you guys are so stubborn. You guys want us to bend over backward to conform to your ways. So is easier to grow with this guy and conform to your age rules other than bending to match to an older guy’s old ways

According to Kibe, it is the fault of the system. A system where we are mixed and then separated with the opposite sex which affects a lot.

“The problem all starts when we are small children. We are mixed as girls and boys in primary then in high school, we are separated and then the girls mature faster by like 10 years when they are together based on all the empowerment they have gotten. But for the boys have not grown and understood how to katia a girl because all he knows is sports. So they go to campus and meet up with the girls and the girl will look at a guy as a kid but there is a 20 year older who is speaking her language.” Kibe explained

Today the Morning Kiss had a lot of male callers as opposed to women in as much this was about them. So many younger men who called in were bitter that the likes of Kibe are winning in this game despite their efforts.

“I do not agree with Kibe. Us guys in campus can only afford to take her to a cube and you as an older guy can take her out but in a few years, we win the race because I will get the money.” Caller number one said

“The battle is solely dependent on a lady. If she wants to settle down she will go for an older guy and if she wants to enjoy life she will go with a younger guy.” Another male caller said

Many ladies would say they want a mature man and that is why they end up picking older men because they have tried and tested these ways of love and affection.

Men believe it is all about the money. That is what girls run for.
