Nairobi Deputy Governor Signs Into Law the Public Nuisance Act – Kenyan Business Feed

Nairobi City County Deputy Governor and Acting Governor, Ann Kananu has signed the Nairobi City County Public Nuisance act 2021 into law.

“The objective of this act is to provide for the control of public nuisance and empower the county to take all lawful necessary and reasonably practicable measures for the maintenance of the county at all times in a clean and sanitary condition.” Says, Ms Kananu

The Acting Governor said that the abatement and prevention of public nuisances, the remedying or causing to be remedied any nuisance or condition liable to be injurious or dangerous to health, or which has been declared to be a public nuisance under this Act.

“The Act is meant to bring order and sanity in the city,”Said Ms Kananu

Present during the signing ceremony was the Speaker Nairobi County Assembly, Benson Mutura, other Members of County Assembly and Nairobi County Attorney, Lydia Kwamboka who presented the bill to the Acting Governor for assent.
