The County of Nairobi has warned restaurant and bar operators against flouting stipulated guidelines in the fight against coronavirus.
Health CEC in Nairobi county Hitan Majvedia singled out joints in residential estates which he said had not fully complied.
He said the operators if found, will be arrested and their licenses withdrawn.
“Some bars and restaurants owners especially in residential areas and estates are still serving clients behind closed doors as opposed to the takeaway service recommended. Let me warn that if found, the owners will be arrested and their licences withdrawn” he warned in a statement.

He has called on enforcement teams to ensure compliance. He says the county will not allow anyone to undermine measures that have already been put in place to combat the virus in the county.
“The enforcement teams are notified to ensure compliance. With rising number of COVID-19 cases most of which are concentrated in Nairobi, we will not allow anyone to undermine our efforts in curbing the spread of this deadly virus. Let us all take full responsibility of safeguarding our city by strictly adhering to the guidelines set by the Ministry of Health”, he added.
