New Covid-19 Cases Jump to 248,392 as 323 More Test Positive

Kenya on Saturday, 25th September, confirmed 323 new Covid-19 cases in 24 hours. This brings the country’s caseload to 248,392.

Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe said in a statement issued in Nairobi that the cases were detected from 5,606 samples tested, raising the total to 2,533,467. The country’s positivity rate stands at 5.8 per cent.

From the new cases, 317 are Kenyans while six are foreigners with 167 being females while 156 are males. The youngest is a two-month old baby while the oldest is 104 years.

Kagwe confirmed that 432 patients had recovered from the disease, 387 from the home-based and isolation care programme while 45 were from various health facilities. This has increased to 239,730, the total number of recoveries.

The Covid-19 death toll rose to 5,096 after 14 more patients succumbed.
