The Ministry of Health has confirmed 29 new Covid-19 cases, raising the national tally to 253,339.
In a press statement issued on Monday, 1st October, Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe said the cases were detected from 3,684 samples tested within the same period, raising the total to 2,708,500. The country’s positivity rate is at 0.8 per cent.
Of the cases, 22 are Kenyans, while seven are foreigners, 16 are males and 13 are females. The youngest is a five-year-old child while the oldest is 83.
Kagwe confirmed that 92 patients had recovered from the disease, 53 from the home-based and isolation care while 39 are from various health facilities. The total number of recoveries now stands at 246,921.
No deaths were reported. The countrywide Covid-19 death toll remains at 5,281.
