Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga on Sunday, 13th February met with the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi in Delhi.
In an update on Twitter Raila said that they held talks on strengthening bilateral relations and ties between the two nations.
“Delighted to have had warm discussions with India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Our nations share a fond bond as many Kenyans have for decades attended universities here. My hope is that we shall strengthen ties and learn more from each other in the years ahead,” tweeted Raila.
India’s PM Modi expressed his gratitude to meet with former Kenya’s Prime Minister.
“Delighted to receive my friend H.E. Raila Amolo Odinga, former Prime Minister of Kenya. I fondly recollect my past interactions with him in India and Kenya. India and Kenya enjoy strong bilateral relations and we welcome further strengthening of our ties,” said Modi.
Mr Odinga is in India for the treatment of his eldest daughter, Rosemary Odinga.
Rosemary lost her eyesight in 2017 after suffering a minor stroke. She has been in and out of hospital ever since with initial treatment being undertaken in South Africa.
In 2019, Rosemary travelled to India and underwent treatment at Shreedhareeyam Ayurvedic Eye Hospital in Koothattukulam, Kerala where her eyesight was restored.
