Defending champions KCB Rugby will be seeking to close the gap on leaders Kabras Sugar when they travel to play Strathmore Leos in a Kenya Cup match set to be staged at Madaraka Grounds.

On the other hand, the university side will be looking forward to bounce back to winning ways after their recent display against Kabras left them wounded.

KCB are currently placed second on the log having amassed 40 points in the last nine matches while Strathmore Leos are sitting fourth with 29 points.

Despite both having secured a semifinals spot, KCB winger Jacob Ojee still believes the bankers have a lot to do to before the end of the regular season next week.

The Kenya Sevens star said they are in playoff mood and all they are doing is working out some of their few mistakes that have seen them forced to dig deep and come from behind to win in their last three matches.

“In the past few matches, we have had to come from behind to win games and this has been tough but we have re-strategized and analyzed our game to ensure that as we face the two top teams in the coming clashes, we do not give away easy tries,” he said.

The Olympian says they are putting in the necessary work in training to acquire maximum points in the remaining matches and top the log if their closest rivals Kabras slips.

“The two teams we are facing next will be in the playoffs meaning these two remaining games are vital for our preparations,” explained Ojee.

Other fixtures include Kenya Harlequins playing Top-fry Nakuru, Nondescripts hosting Impala in a do or die bout while third placed Menengai Oilers entertain Kenyatta University’s Blak Blad.
