Amani National Congress leader Musalia Mudavadi has termed the One Kenya Alliance (OKA) as a subsidiary of Raila Odinga-led Azimio La Umoja.
Speaking on why he abandoned OKA, Musalia claimed it was a government project that was being controlled from State House.
In apparent defence to backlash for joining Deputy President William Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance (UDA), Mudavadi accused One Kenya Alliance leaders of betraying their course.
“The reason I left OKA was after learning that it’s a subsidiary of Azimio and a State project and it cannot be trusted,” he said.
The ANC leader who was in Naivasha selling the agenda of the newly formed union dismissed OKA Principals as non-starters who couldn’t make decisions.
He made the remarks hours after Martha Karua (NARC-K) and Cyrus Jirongo joined OKA as partners.
The leaders said they will register the new coalition at the Registrar of Political Parties on February 28, 2022.
Speculations are rife that the principals are considering joining hands with Raila Odinga’s Azimio la Umoja Movement.
Mudavadi called on residents to reject leaders imposed on them.
“The government should respect the rule of law and let Kenyans decide who will be their next leader come August 9th,” he said.
His ally in the Kenya Kwanza Alliance, Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetangula decried the high taxes that he said undermined the investment environment.
Leaders present challenged ODM leader Raila Odinga to accept defeat should he not win the presidential election in August.
Elsewhere, Orange Democratic Movement Partly leader Raila Odinga says if elected President, his administration will seal corruption loopholes.
Raila who was in Kajiado said once corruption loopholes have been sealed there will be more funds available for investment. He at the same time appealed to leaders to respect the institution of the Presidency in the course of their campaigns.
He also asked police not to harass innocent citizens but instead protect lives.
