One Succumbs to Covid-19 as 28 More Test Positive

The Ministry of Health on Monday, 29th November, confirmed 28 new Covid-19 cases from tests carried out in the last 24 hours. This brings the country’s Covid-19 caseload to 254,979.

In a press statement, Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe said that the cases were detected from 2,969 samples tested within the same period, raising the total to 2,830,071. The country’s positivity rate is at 0.9 per cent.

Of the new cases, 25 are Kenyans while three are foreigners with 13 being females while 15 are males. The youngest is a nine-year-old child while the oldest is 90 years.

Kagwe said 177 patients have recovered from the disease with 154 from the Home-Based Isolation and Care program while 23 are from various health facilities countrywide. The total number of recoveries now stands at 248,308.

Sadly, one patient succumbed to the disease pushing the cumulative fatalities to 5,334.

Some seven are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), six of them on ventilator support and one on supplemental oxygen. No patient is under observation.

Another 50 patients were separately on supplemental oxygen with all of them in general wards. No patient is in the High Dependency Unit.

Vaccination: As of 28th November 2021, a total of 6,959,988 vaccines had been administered across the country. Of these, 4,295,764 were partially vaccinated while those fully vaccinated were 2,664,224.
