Controversial city pastor, Apostle James Ng’ang’a risks having his TV station closed for allegedly airing offensive content.

On October 9, the Ng’ang’a talked about his genitals on Sasa TV. He warned female nurses against handling him when he dies, claiming that they would only be interested in seeing his nakedness.

The Media Council of Kenya (MCK) has now written to the man of the cloth, demanding an explanation on why action should not be taken against him and his station.

The regulator said the Neno Evangelism founder breached the programming code for free-to-air radio and television services, adding that it has notified the Communication Authority (CA) for investigations.

“We have directed the media outlet to show cause why action should not be taken against it, further to which the Council will institute relevant sanctions in line with our mandate,” MCK Chief Executive Officer David Omwoyo said in a statement.

However, Ng’ang’a has rubbished the MCK letter, saying his channel falls under the Communications Commission of Kenya (CCK).
He claimed that MCK was being used by his enemies, who want the station closed.

He, however, acknowledged that he has been served with a warning letter by CCK over the words he uttered on that day.

“I received a letter from CCK warning me. So, if the other media would like to do that, let them go to my address from CCK and explain to my lawyer what I should answer.

“For other media to attack me, they should know I’m a preacher, not under anybody to preach water or what. That depends on the message I have. If it is a bad thing that maybe has happened, I can answer to that,” he said.
