Police Arrest Six Chinese Nationals Working In Kenya Illegally

Six Chinese nationals have been arrested in Nairobi’s Imara Daima area for allegedly working in the country without legal permits.

The six include four women; Tili Zhuang 25, Li Chang 23, Cong Tingting 25, B Hong 25 and two men, Cung Long, 30 and Xie Luang 27.

The suspects were arrested on Friday 14th January after an operation conducted by the National Police Service (NPS) with the help of Directorate of Immigration Service officials.

“Acting on intelligence, officers from the National Police Service and the Directorate of Immigration Service arrested six foreigners at Imara Daima area in Nairobi, who were employed without work permits,” NPS said in a statement.

The police stated that they had commenced investigations into the matter pointing out the suspects will be arraigned on Monday, 17th January.

NPS further cautioned employers against employing foreigners without an approved work permit.

“We caution employers that it is illegal for any foreigner to work in Kenya without a valid work permit,” NPS added.
