Political storm looms as Kalonzo set to make major announcement

Azimio’s presidential candidate Raila Odinga is set to make the much-awaited announcement anytime from now.

Kalonzo who made it to the final list submitted to Raila by the selection committee has moved to court seeking to withdraw from the Azimio La Umoja-One Kenya.

There are reports that the Wiper leader who commands substantive influence in Ukambani region is exploring the option of going it alone.

Speculation is rife that the veteran politician could be announcing his running mate to comply with IEBC deadline, even as he seeks court action to exit the coalition.

The Akamba Governing Council of Elders national chairman Boniface Kilonzo has maintained the community will only support a Raila and Kalonzo candidature.

This is the third successive time, the Wiper leader is backing Raila.

Maendeleo Chap Chap party leader Alfred Mutua has also severed ties with Azimio la Umoja One Kenya alliance.

But the Political Parties Disputes Tribunal threw out his application saying he had not exhausted the internal disputes resolution mechanism.
