Kiss 100 presenter Felix Odiwor, alias Jalang’o hosted his last morning show today before wending his way to politics.
Jalang’o is eyeing Lang’ata parliamentary seat, a move to unseat current Member of Parliament, Nixon Korir.
Speaking to a local publication after his resignation, Jalang’o said: “It has been amazing, a good ride, but in life, you have to make decisions. Some of them are hard leaving my colleagues here. It is something I did not wish for.”
Further, he admitted that he has already started his campaigns and said that they were expensive since it involves a lot of activities that require finances.
“Campaigning is very expensive because every meeting you go, even after speaking to people and telling them what you are able to do, people are hungry so, they will tell you, Mhesh unatuacha aje? Give us something.”
Defending his ground, Jalang’o noted that giving the attendees of a political rally some cash does not mean that one is bribing them because they have sacrificed some of their duties and business to make an appearance at the rally.
Jalang’o also disclosed that he has bodyguards to accompany him during campaigns because chaos may erupt when one is on the ground popularising his bid.
“I don’t have just one (bodyguard). When you join politics, you don’t just have one, you walk with up to 10 sometimes because of the people charging at you, grabbing or moving you during the campaign. Also, during that time, you will find there are people with bad intentions.” He said.
“Politics is not a joke, it is like someone having meat in their mouth, and you are coming to take it away from them. It is not easy. it is risky and expensive, but we are ready for it.” He added.
