Newly promoted Football Federation Kenya Premier League (FKF PL) side Talanta FC beat champions Tusker FC 2-1 in a match played at Ruaraka grounds on Wednesday, 27th October.
Talanta took the lead in the 20th minute through Francis Kahiro but Tusker FC levelled in the 56th minute through James Macharia. In the 62nd minute, Kahiro scored a winner grabbing a brace for Talanta FC.
The defending champions are now winless in their first two league matches and remain rooted at the bottom of the table with zero points. They started their league campaign with a 1-0 loss against AFC Leopards.
Meanwhile, Talanta are fifth on the log with seven points two behind leaders Nairobi City Stars.
Robert Matano’s men will be hoping for better performance when they take on Wazito FC on Saturday, 30th October.
Talanta FC now shifts focus to the next match in which they will face Bandari FC at Mbaraki Stadium in Mombasa.
Elsewhere Gor Mahia FC registered their third straight win after a 2-0 victory over Kariobangi Sharks at Moi Sports Centre Kasarani.
Gor Mahia notched their goals through Benson Omalla and Peter Lwasa in the 12th and 82nd minutes respectively.
With the win, K’ogalo now moves to second with nine points, tied with Nairobi City Stars, Kakamega Homeboyz, and Bandari.
