Raila instructs government to buy Otieno’s beds, aide reveals

Instructions have been issued to ensure the government procure beds from Meshak Otieno of Juja, this is according Raila Odinga’s aide Silas Jakakimba. Making the announcement on Social Media on Thursday, Jakakimba said he had a conversation with both the State House Chief of Staff Nzioka Waita and Presidential Delivery Unit Secretary Andrew Wakahul, who confirmed to him the directive.

”I have this afternoon spoken with both State Hse Chief-Of-Staff @NziokaWaita and @PDUDelivery Secretary @andrew_wakahiu1 ,Re: Meshack Otieno of Juja. I can authoritatively reveal that instructions have issued to ensure Government procures beds from him alongside the other youths,” Jakakimba Tweeted, adding he had also spoken to Meshak Otieno on the same.

Yesterday, President Uhuru Kenyatta angered Kenyans with his move to award 500 hospital beds tender to a group of youth innovators from Githunguri Kiambu County sidelining Juja’s Meshack Otieno.

The President gave the order to the youthful innovators group led by Mungai Gathogo and Joseph despite the Juja based artisan Meshack Otieno who makes the same bed, whose work went viral on social media.
