Raila meets Mt Kenya youth, promises more jobs

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga has pledged to strengthen the private sector in a bid to create more employment opportunities for the youth. 

Speaking in Nairobi Tuesday when he met youth from Mt. Kenya region, the former premier claimed that the ailing economy in the country is as a result of untapped potential in the private sector promising to seal corruption loopholes to help drive the country’s economy.

He also promised to create a conducive environment for investors in a bid to open up more employment opportunities for young people.

“We will bring industries through value addition to grow agriculture sectors that will create employment to our youth. We must partner together, I want to partner with you so that we bring change to our country. And we will be able to expand our economy,” Raila said.

The ODM leader at the same time said his government will create a youth fund to enable the young people borrow money and repay after 7 years.

Leaders who attended the meeting held at the at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Foundation in called on the youth to participate in the electoral process to determine their future.
