Dozens of fire rescue units responded to what the Miami-Dade Fire Rescue department described as a “partial building collapse” in Miami early Thursday.
The residential building at that address is called Champlain Towers South and was built in 1981, according to city property records. The building has 136 units, according to real estate websites.
As of 4:30 a.m. Eastern, the police were not reporting any deaths or injuries.
Videos and images of the scene on Twitter showed the building, which appeared to be at least 12 stories tall, partially collapsed, with debris scattered on the ground and rubble piled high.
