Orange House is located along Melik Road, in Kilimani Area

The former Orange House, located in Nairobi’s Kilimani Area will host DP William Ruto’s new political party, after he ditches Jubilee. This revelation has been made just a day after Ruto met Caroli Omondi, who owns the premises.

Orange House has been the Headquarters of the Orange Democratic Movement since its inception in 2005. It was widely reported in 2018 that disagreements between Orange House owner Caroli Mondi and ODM chairman John Mbadi resulted to the former’s decision to evict the party from his premises.

”It is just differences between Mbadi and Omondi. He accuses Mbadi of rigging him and even blocking him from contesting in 2017. That is the reason why the party is being kicked out,” a top Raila ally said at that time.

After a closely contested nominations, Omondi was blocked from switching parties having violated ‘Political Parties Regulations’, something he still blames Mbadi of orchestrating.

Still bitter of the outcome, Omondi would later back his own brother, Peter Ocholla of Ford Kenya, who contested against the ODM chair.

Between 2008-13, Omondi served as Raila Odnga’s Chief of Staff in the office of the PM having also served as his PA for many years.

Deputy President William Ruto’s break-away faction from Jubilee has settled on the Kilimani Area located building due to its popularity as well as ease of access.
