Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua on Sunday claimed that almost all allies of President Uhuru Kenyatta from the Mt Kenya region have been supporting Deputy President William Ruto silently.

Gachagua, in an interview on Inooro TV, said the leaders visit the DP at night when the media cannot easily spy on them.

The lawmaker revealed that some of them despite being vocal and calling out the second in command publicly, at night they meet him and apologise.

“The list is long. They come at night telling the DP to know that they are with him and waiting for the right time to join United Democratic Alliance (UDA),” he said.

The former administrator in Danie Moi’s government the politicians, especially governors, fear that investigative agencies would be sent to harass and intimidate them if they leave Jubilee Party now.

He claimed that Nyandarua Governor Francis Kimemia is among those who are backing the country’s number two behind the scenes.
Interestingly, Kimemia on Saturday, November 6, hosted ODM leader Raila Odinga in his county and assured him of his support.

The governor made headlines recently when he disclosed that the “deep state” has been manipulating the presidential election, adding that any presidential candidate who will get backup of the cable in next year’s poll is likely to carry the day.

Gachagua further suggested that Nyeri Governor Mutahi Kahiga and Murang’a Woman Rep Sabina Wanjiru Chege will eventually decamp to UDA.

“Expect mass exodus early next year. Jubilee will remain a shell and I know by February 2022 people will believe what I’m saying.”

He added that the only lawmakers from the Mountain who are possibly sticking with Jubilee to the end are Kieni MP Kanini Kega, his Nyeri Town colleague Ngunjiri Wambugu and Jeremiah Kioni of Ndaragwa.
