RIP! Celebrities stand with Ruth Matete after husband’s death

Singer Ruth Matete is mourning the death of her husband which was announced on Sunday evening.

Her husband John Apewajoye succumbed to injuries due to a gas explosion at their apartment.

He was in the hospital for about a week before his death.

Matete revealed details of what occurred to her husband in a whatsapp group before John died.

Part of the details read;

We had bought gas and when we lit it, it was not lighting well. We thought it was overfilled.SO NORMALLY, MY HUSBAND WILL JUST TAKE IT OUT AND RELEASE SOME OF THE GAS.

SO HE DID THE SAME..ONLY THAT THIS TIME, HE DID IT AT THE BALCONY.Unfortunately, we had some clothes hanging on the clothes line. And other stuff in the balcony.

Because of this, the gas did not go out when he released it. It was on the clothes and some stuff at the balcony.

He immediately wanted to check if the gas is now working and went ahead to light it. The rest is history as the fire exploded.

Matete has been left with a three months pregnancy.

The two walked down the aisle in a colourful wedding last year.

Her last post with him read;

Celebrities among them Njesh Wa Qabbz have stood with Ruth during this time. She wrote;

 I don’t even know where to start.
It’s so devastating to learn of the demise of your husband John.

I don’t know what you are going through at such a time like this but I can atleast understand the agony of anger and pain to learn that your beloved wunt be able to witness the little angel the both of you were waiting for.

I want to ask Our God.. The God of all comfort to be by your side…
