Safaricom Announces M-Pesa Service Interruption

Safaricom Plc has announced the interruption of services on their money transfer platform scheduled for Saturday, 6th November.

In a notice dated 5th November, 2021, the telco noted that its M-Pesa service shall be undergoing planned maintenance on Saturday from midnight (2359 hrs) to Sunday (0400 hrs) morning.

“We are constantly investing and innovating M-Pesa to ensure that we continue to meet the needs of our customers as well as continue to support our partners in their business ambitions,” read part of the notice

“To support this continued transformation, we regularly undertake enhancements and maintenance of our systems from time to time.”

The maintenance exercise will affect all M-Pesa services, including airtime purchases.

“During the maintenance, all M-Pesa services, including airtime purchase shall be temporarily unavailable,” the announcement continued.

The company says they planned the maintenance activity at a time when minimal inconveniences will be experienced by customers.

The mobile service provider has apologised for any inconveniences that may be caused during the exercise.
