Senator Omanga refutes claims of being disloyal to Jubilee party

Nominated Senator Millicent Omanga has refuted accusations that she is disloyal to the Jubilee party saying she is a staunch supporter.

Omanga spoke when she appeared before the Jubilee’s disciplinary committee to respond to various allegations leveled against her and several other members.

She told the committee that she has contributed in excess of Ksh 600,000 since the party nominated her to Parliament saying every month she contributes Ksh 20,000 to support the party in running its affairs.

Omanga said if she were not a loyal member of the party, then she wouldn’t be making the said contributions.

“It’s the party which nominated me, I am loyal to it, its organs, to the Party leader and the Deputy party leader and all other organs of the Jubilee party.” She said.

Omanga said her only mistake was failure to attend the Jubilee Party Parliamentary meeting at State House earlier this month but claimed that she didn’t get any communication inviting her to the said meeting.

She said if she had received the communication she would have been among the first to arrive at State House for the meeting.

Omanga said she hasn’t gone against the Jubilee Party’s code of conduct and the allegation of being disloyal is therefore not valid.
