National Assembly Speaker of the Justin Muturi has urged Mt Kenya region to support his Presidential bid saying they shouldn’t settle for the running mate position.
Muturi says he launch an extensive presidential campaign starting February once the Democratic Party endorses him as its flag-bearer.
“Once I am endorsed by Democratic Party as its presidential flag bearer, the Mt Kenya snow will melt, we will generate campaign heat not seen in the region before.”
He warned those who camping in Mt Kenya seeking for votes, that the ground is shifting, saying the mountain will get very slippery for them.
“You have been coming to Mt Kenya as if it is nobody’s ground, I’m now telling you to come slowly, there is someone to contend with.” he said.
Muturi was speaking at Jumuiya Conference Centre ground, Limuru town, where he was endorsed by over 1000 delegates to vie for the presidency on a Democratic Party ticket.
He said the Democratic Party National Delegates Conference to be held at Bomas of Kenya on February 20 will change the trend of the presidential contest.
“Mt Kenya has been without a serious presidential candidate, now I am here and we have a choice as the biggest voting block,” Muturi said.
He is expected to tour Isinya, where he will meet Maasai elders and grassroots politicians affiliated to the Democratic Party.
