NAIROBI, Kenya Dec 24-The Cabinet Secretary Ministry of East African Community and Regional Development Adan Mohamed has appointed Stephen Ikua as the new Director General of the Lamu Port South-Sudan Ethiopia Transit Corridor Authority (LAPSSET) effective January 14 2022.
This follows the conclusion of the recruitment process by the Board of Directors of the LAPSSET.
Prior to his appointment, Ikua was in charge of the Kenya South-Sudan Liaison Office and the Secretary Administration in the Ministry.
He has 30 years’ experience in the public sector and participated in the conceptualization and design of the LAPSSET project and has vast experience in regional development matters having served in various capacities in Government.
Further, CS Mohamed also appointed Liban Duba as the new Managing Director of Tana and Athi River Development Authority (TARDA) with effect from January 14, 2022.
Prior to his appointment, Duba was the immediate Manager industrial training at the National Industrial Training Authority Mombasa and has overseen the successful completion of the Korean International Corporation Agency (KoICA) – Government of Kenya (GoK) capacity enhancement project amongst other notable development projects.
He is an accomplished Administration and Management Professional with extensive experience in the areas of Public Administration, Human Capital Development, Policy Formulation, Project Management, Devolved Governance as well as Integrated Regional Development.
