A storm is brewing at Webuye County Referral Hospital with a section of workers accusing one of hospital administrators Norah Omoko of what they term as indecent dressing that is not compatible with the senior position she holds.
In a letter dated August 5 2019 seen by this writer, workers accused the administrator of engaging in reckless dating spree, with a sharp appetite for male medical doctors irrespective of their marital status.
The letter that was addressed to Bungoma county government chief officer in charge of health Patrick Wandili shows graphic details of how ugly events have been unfolding in the facility.
On July 8 2019 at around 9.30am, a stranger who identified himself to the guard at the entrance to the wards as a KDF officer requested to see a man and woman in a photo posted on Facebook in his phone. The physician on duty a Dr Wilson, however, noted quickly that the photo was of his colleague Maalim Hussein and hospital administrator Omoko. Wilson opted to go fetch him leaving the KDF officer with the security at the entrance.
Further details show that Wilson noticed the danger in the offing and alerted Dr Maalim to run for his dear life.
“We are aware that the ensuing drama forced Dr Maalim to flee and hurriedly took unplanned leave to save his life,” noted the concerned hospital staff.
The facility administrator wedded in December 2018 and recently filed a divorce suit that is pending in court which could be the likely cause of the cloudy suspicion circumstances that surround the recent visit to the hospital by the KDF soldier.
Speaking to Weekly Citizen in Webuye town, workers claimed that during the short period the administrator has been in the office, she has made several mistakes through poor decision making of handling casual contracts and irregular award of increments in a biased manner.
At the same time, Webuye residents and members of the public are worried about the sickening and unprecedented death rate of patients at the hospital. This comes shortly after death of one Engineer Victor from Sitikho who allegedly died in a clinic owned by one of the hospital physicians but later was taken to Webuye County Referral Hospital where he was pronounced death.
