The twin issues of love and marriage have always been a delicate balancing act one that needs to handle carefully.
From celebrities to ordinary mortals, the driving force is the search for true love, which many, ironically, believe is so hard to find, but won’t just give up.
Well, everyone has his or her opinions on how to go about courtship that culminates into a happy marriage. Today, 1st July, it was award-winning Kenyan Afro Pop star Nadia Mukami’s turn to give her views and tips on this tricky subject.
The top musician has been in the limelight for a while with twists and turns in her own love and relationships.
Acknowledging that she is not a trained relationship expert, the fast-rising artiste freely dished out some advice on choosing the right partner as follows:
1. Choosing a good father/mother for your kids is more important than picking a husband/wife for yourself;
2. Do not settle down with people who are still stuck on their exes;
3. A man who constantly asks you for money but never spoils you and complains he’s broke but lives lavish is a big turn-off! AVOID!
4. Don’t get pregnant for a man if you don’t know where he lives;
5. A man/woman who can’t buy you even a cup of coffee worth Ksh100 while dating will never buy you ANY gift when married!
6. Your partner should be the first person to celebrate your wins such as graduation, opening a small business, promotion, etc. A partner who never celebrates your wins is a red flag!
7. Date people who are proud of you! Date people who show you off! There is a difference between a private relationship & a secret relationship.
This comes barely two months since the beauty queen introduced the love of her life to her fans
It would be interesting to know if she considered the above tips before she said to yes to her Asian boyfriend.
Nadia has also been doing so well in her music career as she was named the First Female Artiste in Kenya to attain 10 million streams on Boomplay music
