Azimio La Umoja-One Kenya Alliance presidential candidate Raila Odinga is the most preferred presidential candidate in three selected counties.

According to an opinion poll by Trends & Insights for Africa (Tifa), released Tuesday, Raila remains the most popular candidate in Nairobi County at 41 per cent, 48 per cent in Makueni and 50 per cent in Mombasa.

He is closely followed by Deputy President William Ruto of Kenya Kwanza at 26 per cent in Nairobi and 32 per cent in Mombasa and 18pc in Makueni Counties.

According to the pollster, the gap between Raila and DP Ruto is small enough to suggest that the level of contestation in the three counties will be high.

According to TIFA Counties Poll, ODM Party is the most popular at 26pc followed closely by UDA at 22pc.

Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja is the most preferred governor for Nairobi at 23 per cent followed Polycarp Igathe at 15 per cent, Richard Ngatia at 3 per cent, and Anne Kananu at 1 per cent.

ODM secretary general Edwin Sifuna leads in the Senatorial race for Nairobi city with 19 per cent followed by Bishop Margaret Wanjiru who has 6 per cent.

The survey was conducted in the month of April with 1,950 respondents taking part.
