Kenyan DJ Jones Achido popularly identified in the media arena as VDJ Jones has issued a statement over the much anticipated Squidfest Festival which was slated to be on Friday, 19th 2021 at Hindocha Hall, Maseno University.
Speaking exclusively to Litkenya.com, Jones who also doubles up as a music producer and video director stated that they had decided to reschedule the festival to allow time for proper planning of the event. He further stated that his team will host different shows at different parts of the region on the same date.
“To my Maseno fans, we won’t be coming to Maseno University. Ignore the posters going around,”
“We postponed the event at Maseno. We will be at Bondo, Busia, and Mumias.” He said.
This is the second time Maseno University revelers are facing a major setback after the first event dubbed ‘Freshers Night’ fell short due to a lack of proper prior planning.
Squidfest which was presupposed to be a second event was expected to be graced by new-age sensation artists among them Mbogi Genje, Jeshi Jinga, Ethic, Trio Mio, Arafat Mentor, DJ Chess, DJ Buddy, Peter Kusero, and MC Ben Jete.
The main host of the event was VDJ Jones which is not a household name in the Kenyan Music industry as he is known for releasing popular hit songs like ‘Rieng’ and ‘Wale Mang’aa’. He started his professional journey in 2015 after clearing university where he had enrolled for a journalism course.
Jones is a person of hope as he believes that hard work is the key to every door and works towards improving his skills to be a globally recognized DJ.
“I am to be the best Dj in Africa and one of the biggest DJ brands in the world, nothing is impossible.”
