Top 14 African countries with best police force, Kenya not among them

– Botswana has been rated first among 14 countries with the best police force in Africa

– Tunisia, Egypt and Burkina Faso are some of the countries that were ranked on the continent

– Ghana, Sudan, Rwanda and Mali were also rated at different positions; Kenya did not make the cut

According to World Internal Security and Police Index (WISPI) report, Bostwana has the best police force in Africa.

The 2020 WISPI report was proposed by Mamdooh Abdelmottlep and designed by experts across the world.

In a tweet by Africa Facts Zone, Rwanda and Algeria ranked second and third on the handful list of 14 countries.

Ghana made the ranking in the eighth position, while South Africa, Morocco, and Mali are number nine, 10, and 11 on the list.

Kenya’s police force, which has been on the spot in recent months over brutality meted against civilians during the COVID-19 pandemic, did not make it to the list.

There are, however, ongoing police reforms in Kenya aimed at restoring lost public confidence in the Service, even as pressure continue to pile on Inspector General Hillary Mutyambai to end police brutality.
