Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has vehemently denied saying that President Uhuru Kenyatta rigged the 2013 and 2017 presidential elections.

Addressing the National Delegates Conference (NDC) of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) yesterday, 15th March, at the Kasarani gymnasium, Nairobi, the lawmaker said that the President’s victories did not reflect the will of Kenyans.

He disclosed that he had been hired by the Jubilee Party to help in the vote rigging.

“We are the people who helped President Uhuru Kenyatta to rig. The brains that aided in the stealing of the elections are now supporting Deputy President William Ruto,” he said.

Kuria, who is a trained data analyst, vowed to also help the second in command to win the forthcoming presidential election.

His sentiments sparked mixed reactions among Kenyans and got extensive media coverage.

The lawmaker has now made an about-turn on the utterances, claiming that he was misquoted.

“Ben Githae is my witness. Tiliimbia Uhuru Ndani Ndani mpaka akashinda (we sang the Ndani Ndani hit until Uhuru won),” he said.

Before the 2017 General Election, Githae released a song titled Tano Tena to popularize the candidature of presidential candidature and Ndani Ndani words formed a big part of the chorus.

Murang’a Woman Representative Sabina Wanjiru Chege found herself in a tight spot after suggesting that ODM leader Raila Odinga was rigged out by the President.

“I’ve heard people say we rigged baba, there is some truth in it. This time around we are going ensure baba wins,” she said.

She was summoned by the electoral commission to puzzle out her claim. The matter is ongoing.
