President Uhuru Kenyatta on Wednesday, December 1, heaped praises at ODM leader Raila Odinga and tipped him to form the next government.

Speaking at a function where he awarded Nakuru a city charter, the President noted the former Prime Minister has exhibited quality leadership skills.

Comparing his deputy William Ruto to the opposition chief, the Head of State observed that the former is a power-hungry individual while the latter is keen on development and unity.

He claimed that the DP is running a divisive presidential campaign, but going nowhere.

“For me, I know the importance of peace. He has been trying to incite Kenyans but forgetting that without peace he can’t go far. Even if you were to get power, you can’t govern a divided nation,” he said.

President Kenyatta also appeared rooted for AU High Commissioner on Roads and Infrastructure, telling off those who brand him as old.

“Don’t say someone is old and that Kenyans should elect the young one. We choose leaders with brains. Leadership is how you think,” the Kenyan leader stated.

The first in command also said that Dr. Ruto thinks that by engaging in pre-mature campaigns he will defeat his opponents in next year’s State House race.

He observed that the former Prime Minister was making good strides and stood better chances of succeeding him.

“Leadership is not a sprint, it is a marathon. You will run very fast and get tired halfway. Mzee will come at his pace and go ahead of you, emerging victorious,” he said.

The DP has been accusing his boss of trying to push Raila to the presidency using State machinery.
