Video of Little Girl Rejecting DP Ruto Money Goes Viral

A little girl embarrassed Deputy President William Ruto in Laikipia County after she rejected his money.

As one of his allies, Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua, was addressing the residents, the DP on the other side was sharing a light moment with the child he was holding from the sunroof of his SUV.

The second in command then asked for some cash from one of his handlers, who was inside the guzzler.

However, when he tried to give the girl the handout, she refused to take it.

In fact, she detached her hand decisively when Dr. Ruto tried to push it into her hand.

Visibly disappointed, the second in command placed the money under her sweater before passing her to her mother.

The incident sparked a whirlwind of reactions on social media platforms, with supporters and critics of the DP sharply divided.

Some Kenyans noted that the baby, who is barely three years, should be an example to grown-ups who shamelessly accept handouts from politicians without even knowing the source of the money.

Others observed that the child has been taught by her parents not to accept gifts from strangers.
