Vihiga Queens have arrived in Cairo, Egypt ahead of the inaugural 2021 TotalEnergies Caf Women’s Champions League.
The Cecafa champions led by the Chief Executive Officer, Michael Senelwa Ogada left the country on Tuesday morning, 2nd November aboard Egypt Air flight.
“We are happy that finally, the team is traveling for a tournament that will give our team good exposure and a good platform to showcase talent. The team is very motivated and ready to carry the Kenyan flag high,” Ogada told the club’s official website before their departure.
Eight teams will battle in the inaugural tournament slated for 5th to 19th November in Cairo.
Vihiga Queens who are in Pool B will open their campaign with a match against Mamelodi Sundowns (South Africa) on 6th November. They will face Morocco’s Asfar Club in the second group game on 9th November, before taking on Nigeria’s Rivers Angels in the last group match three days later.
Group A comprises host Wadi Degla (Egypt), AS Mande (Mali), Malabo Queens (Equatorial Guinea), and Hasaacas Ladies of Ghana.
