Winnie Odinga Returns Fire to DP Ruto After He Said Raila is Stingy

ODM leader Raila Odinga’s daughter, Winnie Odinga has castigated Deputy President William Ruto after he said her father was stingy.

Speaking to a delegation of Kajiado and Samburu leaders at his Karen residence, the DP claimed that the former Prime Minister does not like to share with others.

He stated that Raila avoids fundraisers and church functions because he is tight-fisted.

“Our friend is very stingy. You won’t see him helping churches, women, and the youth. I am told that when he attends church service, even giving an offering becomes a problem,” he said.

The second in command urged Kenyans to reject the opposition boss, stating that the country needs a person who shares with the citizens during times of need.

“One thing that has always puzzled me is where Raila gets all those votes. In 2022, Kenyans should elect a President who helps them build churches and attends harambees,” he said.

Dr. Ruto added that unlike the AU Special Envoy on Roads and Infrastructure, he is “God-fearing” and that’s why he deserves the presidency to take Kenya in the right direction.

Responding to the DP’s allegations, Winnie said his father is not a hypocrite like the DP.

She claimed that Ruto uses donations to dupe the masses to believe that he is generous, adding that her father makes contributions when the cameras are off.

“Not all donations are PR stunts. Give with your heart or not at all. The world doesn’t have to know,” she wrote on her Twitter handle.

Some Kenyans also joined that debate, noting that not even once retired President Mwai Kibaki graced a harambee yet he is hailed as the best Head of State Kenya has ever produced.
